Police concern for missing Sutton woman
11:41am Wednesday 8th February 2012

A woman has gone missing after walking out of her home in Sutton last night while cooking dinner for her partner.
Police are growing increasingly concerned about the whereabouts of Valerie Large, 63, who has not been seen or heard from since she walked out of her home in Grove Road, Sutton, at 6pm yesterday.
She left on foot without saying a word and wearing only a thin blue anorak with hood, black trousers and black gloves - and distinctive leopard-skin print Wellington boots.
She did not take her handbag, money or mobile phone, although she has a Freedom Pass for bus travel.
Police are extremely concerned as she was not dressed for last night’s freezing temperatures and did not take her medication with her, which she requires each day.
Police have contacted friends and family, checked hospitals and are searching streets, main shopping areas and parks and open spaces.
Officers in Surrey and Sussex have are on the look out too.
Mrs Large has strong links with the Redhill and Nutfield areas.
She is described as medium build with short light brown hair.
Detective Sergeant Lena McCreadie, of Sutton CID, said: "We are very concerned because Valerie is ill equipped for the very cold weather and has no money."
If you see Mrs Large, call 999 immediately.
